Groups & Activities

Every Thursdays from 11am to 2pm, our parish hall is opened to anyone who would like to enjoy a free cuppa and a chat. Hot meals are served last Thursday of the month. It is a great way to get to know the community and making new friends.

This group started with a deep desire to support the various activities of the church and it slowly evolved to include coordinating our parish hospitality ministry. Through their various innovative fund-raising activities, our ladies are known and committed in giving towards various missions. This year, ALF is supporting two ABM Projects in Kenya - Sustainable Livelihoods Project & Disability Inclusion Project. They are also committed in giving to charities e.g. Days for Girls, Bishop’s Appeal, Christmas Boxes, Samaritan Purse and they are ardent supporters of Anglicare’s Buldau Yioohgen Program which began in Ararat.

When life gets tough, we are here to help. We welcome families and young people seeking emergency provisions and emotional support in times of hardship, no matter what they’re going through. We work with other churches and agencies in Ararat to provide an array of immediate assistance including groceries, clothing, medication, financial assistance and counselling, and access to our first-class support services. Importantly, we understand that’s it’s the kindness and human connection that makes the most significant difference during personal crises.

We support the local police and work alongside Anglican Criminal Justice Ministry. Our clergy are trained and are able to provide resources to meet the spiritual and pastoral needs of all people, without discrimination, and in every field of life. Our volunteer chaplains make significant contributions to our city and region by being a positive influence and offering measured support and genuine help especially in the time of need.
-
We provide ministry to Gorrinn Village; a Prayer and Praise service every second Friday at Garden View Court; a Prayer and Praise service the first Thursday of each month at Lowe St, and on a roster basis at the Day Centre. We also travel to Willaura Hospital and Retirement Facility once a month. Our aim is to support patients and their families during their difficult and challenging days through sacrament and pastoral care.
-
From Wednesday to Friday (9.30am to 4pm), our shop is open, offering a wide range of pre-loved quality clothes, kitchenware and other goods. Come for a browse. Leave with a bargain! Monies collected are used to support local groups and charities.

We are blessed with the presence of new migrants especially from the Solomon Islands. They are not only good singers but very devoted Anglicans, rooted in the tradition of Book of Common Prayer. Our existing parishioners have embraced them as part of the church family, offering hospitality, love and care for these young men. With the recent announcements from our government, we are hoping that they will be joined with their families soon in Australia and perhaps consider be part of us in the long term as residents. We also work with our local council in their endeavour to resettle migrants through various activities.

Under the leadership of Mrs Kris Hughes who ran our local Sing Australia for many years, we have a choir who supports us in our worship. We are always looking for new members. Practices are held every Thursdays at 7pm.
